This patent introduced a system that classifies text into meaningful information types—such as phone numbers, URLs, names, and locations—and connects them to relevant mobile functionalities and services.

Today, features that allow users to tap recognized text and navigate to detailed information have become standard.However, at the time, this concept was recognized as an innovative advancement in both idea and technology.

As a result, the invention was filed and registered as a patent in multiple countries, and remains valid through 2038.



URL Metadata Utilization

Automatically extracts and connects metadata from detected URLs,providing users with a rich preview of the linked content.


Name Recognition & Contextual Actions

Recognizes a person’s name and links it to related data,including contact details and recent call logs, allowing users to seamlessly access relevant information.

Displaying Handwriting Recognition Results

Handwriting recognition does not always accurately interpret a user's intended input. To address potential recognition errors, the interface presents users with multiple parsing options and allows them to select the most appropriate interpretation. This approach improves input accuracy while maintaining a seamless writing experience, giving users greater control over how their handwritten content is converted into actionable data.




Location-Based Map Preview

When a location is recognized from user input, a Google Maps preview is displayed, enabling users to confirm the destination and access location details at a glance.



Contextual Calendar Integration

When a recognized date contains existing events, the corresponding schedule is displayed. If no events are scheduled, the system prompts users to create a new calendar entry, streamlining the event creation process.



UX Commentary

Due to limited technological capabilities at the time, data and automated actions had to be manually mapped on a one-to-one basis.

Although advancements in AI and big data have largely automated these processes today, the fundamental UX insight still holds true—linking meaningful information is, in itself, a powerful driver of improved user experience.
