Goryeo 1000: Merchants

The Goryeo period is known as an era in which trade developed significantly. A wide range of goods circulated through exchange, including glass crafts, spices, fragrances, ceramics, and vessels introduced from the Western regions. Goryeo also produced and sold various goods such as ceramics, textiles, and handcrafted items.

In this project, I sought to depict merchants of the Goryeo period while also capturing the diverse objects that moved between the West and East through trade. By presenting merchants alongside goods such as glassware, fragrances, ceramics, and textiles, the project aims to express the international character and rich material culture of Goryeo.
